Bank Venue

My mixed media work "Golden Age" is on display at the new Trust Bank at Greenfield just north of the 60 in Mesa, Arizona.  I used acrylic paints on the canvas base, attached and painted cardboard pieces, etched designs on metal, aged the metal, mounted etched metal rectangles on sanded mat board, arranged those and secured them.  Then I used wire to group the large rectangles together and attached small glass tiles opposite to balance the piece.

When I create an abstract with paint, or with mixed media or digital art... the experience is freeing.  I like to surprise myself with the outcome. Today's digital abstract is below.

One of my sons needed art for a conference room in his new law practice.  He wanted pieces suitable for a business and artwork that harmonized with the office decor.  As we talked I realized that my son's firm wanted abstract yet traditional art work.  It needed lots of texture.  I experimented using acrylics with added medium for thickness.  I used a pallet knife and lots of gadgets to create effects.  Here is a portion of one panel to demonstrate some texture and design.

It was hard to get a good photo because the art is opposite a close glass office wall.
